Mothers of Invention

New York Times technology blogger David Pogue reminds us that necessity is the mother of all invention and that sometimes its the everyday Joe (or Jane, in these cases) that makes some of the greatest contributions to the field of technology. Mother Kim Burton creates the SimpleShot Syringe to help her diabetic daughter, while Mother Christine Ingemi finds a way to protect her childrens hearing with the iHearSafe earbuds. Both were finalists in the Invent Now competition for amateur inventors.
