Lots of HDTVs to Choose From, Shop Carefully

If you’re one of those diehard plasma TV fans, there will be some very sweet deals in the 40 - 50 inch range for under $1000 like a Panasonic 42" 720p plasma for $550 or the Zenith 42" Z42PO2 plasma TV for around $500, or a Samsung 50" PN50B530 plasma TV for $900. Although many viewers prefer the warm colors and deep blacks of plasma TVs you’re still going to have a glare problem in bright rooms with most plasma TVs. Also keep on mind that over 37 inches, you may want to go with a 1080p TV over a 720p TV. On the LCD side of the aisle it looks like you can pick up some decent TVs that do 1080p and will cost you less than $1,000 like a Sony 46" KDL-46S504 or Toshiba 40" 40RV525U/R 1080p TV. These LCD TVs do not offer popular new features like LED backlight or 120Hz refresh but they should provide a good quality image for most programming.

HDTV

You can't exactly load up a bunch of test signals and spectrum analyzers to carry into Best Buy to check out their TVs (though Gary has been known to do this).

Think before investing

Its very easy to find various types of HDTV's in market, but you should think wisely before investing your money.
