Vertu's Stubble Phone Needs a Razr

Im all for multi-sensory objects (scratch n sniff stickers anyone?). But I feel somewhat strongly that they should be appealing, right? Your school notebook with those stickers looked and smelt Gooooood. So then why would a company create a product that felt like something nobody liked to feel?

The Week in Woot - June 1, 2007

This week the folks over at woot travel by land and sea, winning points from perverts and divers alike, and answer the age old question how much dust could a roomba dust if a roomba could dust dust? Plus, a wooter reminds us that pink is for pansies, but people who carry black laundry markers are pansies posing as real men. Oh yeh, and I find a way to reference a Mike Myers film. Sweeeet.  read more »

Pimp My Gadget: "PimPod"

After seeing governor Ahhnold on MTV's Pimp My Ride, it's clear to me that pimping is now anyone's game. It's time for us gadget geeks to get our pimp on. Rappers' have their grills, celebs their diamond bracelets, and now GGs (yes I gave us a nickname. It's so uncool, it's cool. No? okay, the nickname is optional) have this:

Next Big Cell Phone Thing

I first became aware of DVB-H at this year's CES show. It's a TV broadcast technology that uses UHF frequencies to beam video to your cell phone. That means the transmitter can just as easily be on the television mastsending out broadcasts of sports, news, or soap operas. The video quality I saw at CES was excellent and the standard includes power saving features to extend battery life. The latest announcementshave centered around the recent 3GSM show in Barcelona.  read more »

The DST Countdown Clock is Ticking

With only a few days leftuntil we spring ahead the clocks, the buzz meter is really starting to move. I've been reading a lot of the news and blog postings and they really run the gamut from mini-Y2K to "no big deal." ZDNet just posted something on how much money it's going to cost IT departments and compares that with how much we're going to save in energy costs. They come up with some figures that make it look like a loser for the conservation team.  read more »
