| Nvidia ION 2 |

Just as are we starting to see ION-based netbooks with slightly larger displays than the standard 10 inch display and Nvidia graphics chips, we get word that we can expect to see the next generation of these devices early next year. Nvidia is on schedule to release the ION 2 before the end of the year. It has more graphic processing power and can work with more Intel CPUs including the CULV (ultra low voltage) chips. |

| Lower Priced Netbooks Coming? |

| With Intel planning to release its new Atom N450 processor on January 3, we may see low priced netbooks. Intel reduced the chip set down from three chips to two and lowered the price by about $50 as well. The new lower priced processor may have some limitations like how big a screen it can drive and what operating system it can support but the good news is that it may use less power. Unfortunately, users may get stuck with the very limited Windows Starter Edition as the operating system. |

| You can now pre-order a Blackberry “smartwatch” for $140 from allerta. It requires that a Blackberry phone is within Bluetooth range. It’s more of a “remote” display for your phone that shows your email and SMS messages you can’t use it for input. |

| Microsoft Responds to Apple's Magic Mouse |

| Multitouch is a hot topic these days. Apple just released their multitouch Magic Mouse. Microsoft’ Windows 7 has lots of multitouch support built in and we should expect to see more Windows 7 multitouchscreen laptops, monitors, and mice. Technology Review has an interesting video demo of five “concept,” multitouch mice from Microsoft. |
