Thank you for taking the time to explain my experiences as well. I too am steering clear of Sony and Cannon purchases for the same reasons.
I've also blogged, facebooked and twittered the same. Years ago when companies used planned obsolescence to achieve renew sales the consumer had little recourse in order to protect themselves. Now if companies employ this tactic, social media gives the masses near instant awareness! I'm done with both brands for the remainder of my stay on this earth as is all immediate family members and ALL networked contacts who I've asked to RE blog/facebook and twitter this information.
