Even though you can get cool apps and stuff when you jailbreak an iOS device, I personally think it is a bad idea. First of all, it is against the iPhone contract. I tried it with an old iPod touch, and it left permanent damage to the battery life and other thinks. It had to be completely reset. If you can ruin an iPod touch, then why do it to something as expensive as an iPad?
