I have owned a Kindle e-reader for nearly 4 years now. I had a work-work-issued iPad which I just returned after leaving my job. I replaced it with the Kindle Fire. The Fire does everything the iPad did except take pictures/videos which I did not use. I love the Fire for games, email, Internet access, movies, and of course my books and magazines. If I do any outdoor reading or prolonged reading the Kindle 2 is my choice. But reading at night or on a plane where the lighting may not be so good is best suited to my Fire. I would not personally spend the money on an iPad.
Kindle love affair!
