I think it's great that they are finally moving away from the 30 pin connector but why couldn't they have just used a mini-USB like everyone else does. Yes, I know, Apple isn't everyone else. Yes, I know lightening is suppose to have a lot of advantages. Yes, I know there was USB 1.0, USB 2.0, and soon 3.0 but personally, I would have given up the advantages of a new connector to reduce the number of cables I have to have/carry. And even though some speed is lost when I use an old USB connector/cable, at least it works no matter what I plug into.
