2008 Looking Just So So for Great Deals

Best Buy is our kind of store and it looks like they are going to have some decent Black Friday deals even though it's starting to appear that this year's Black Friday is not going to be as sensational as last year's at Best Buy or anywhere.

If you can live with 720p you can buy the Panasonic Viera 50 inch plasma for $899.99, just bring along a friend to help load it into the car and carry it into the house.

Two digital cameras stand out; the 10 MP Canon PowerShot SD790IS for $199.99 even though you can buy it now for about the same price and the 8MP Kodak EasyShare M893IS for a mere $99.99. A lot of retailers seem to be cleaning out their inventory of the aging Nikon D40 which isn't even selling at a great price.

In the GPS department, everyone seems to be unloading, I mean selling the Garmin nuvi 205 which is quite a good GPS with a nice 3.5 inch display and lots of features. The Best Buy price of $119.99 is right on. The TomTom Go 720 at $249.99 with its big 4.3 inch display was considered the GPS to buy a year ago.

The elusive $299 laptop continues to make itself scarce so far this year, but Best Buy is selling the Toshiba 15.4 inch, Dual-Core Turion 64 X2 with 3GB, 160GB for $379.

The best Blu-ray DVD player this Black Friday is looking like the Sony BDP-S350 for $249.99 which is capable of supporting the latest Blu-ray standard; Profile 2.0. You can buy it for about the same price right now but if you see it for closer to $200 snag it.
