New Toshiba $250 Blu-ray Player
Toshiba may have lost the format war but it looks like it plans on doing battle in the Blu-ray player war with the announcement of the BDX2000 Blu-ray player. It will be released this November at a SRP of $249.99. It supports BD-Live (Profile 2.0) and REGZA-LINK (HDMI-CEC), and supports Dolby True HD / DTS-HD Master Audio.
Lower Prices on Sony
Blu-ray Player

Sony was offering the Sony BDP-S360 for $176 on their rewards site while Amazon was offering this Profile 2.0 player for $179. Could this foreshadow the sub-$200 Black Friday Profile 2.0 Blu-ray player deals?
Sony PS3 Slimline as a Blu-ray Player
The problem with $250 Blu-ray player is the fact that for an extra $50 you can now get the brand new Sony PS3 Slimline. Who wouldn't consider the extra money to get a state-of-the-art game console with a highly acclaimed Blu-ray and upconverting, standard DVD player for $299?
