Seven Reasons to Stay Home and Shop Online
This Black Friday
This year it looks like Amazon and Walmart are going to do battle in the shopping arena. They started a pricewar on books a little while ago and are now battling over holiday purchases. Amazon has already started offering some amazing deals. Amazon's deals are just some of the reasons why you might want to forego the excitement of the stores this Black Friday and shop online
1. Free Shipping and No Sales Tax
The TomTom XL 340 GPS which is available at some stores this year for around $97 should also be available online since it is part of some pre-Black Friday sales. Think of it this way; with free shipping and no sales tax it’s like an extra 10% off the store price not to mention the time and trouble. That’s true for most deals, factor in sales tax saving as an additional discount.
2. Amazing TV Bundles
Normally we’re skeptical of bundle deals but a deal that Bfads.net reported on sounded interesting. Amazon is offering $300 off on selected Sony bundles through November 28th which means if you match one of the BRAVIA KDL-xxx5100 series TVs with the Sony BDP-N460 or N560 you could end up with a TV and Blu-ray player for a little more than the Walmart Sony doorbuster.
3. Blu-Ray Movies on Sale
In case you want to start a Blu-ray movie collection or give someone you love a Blu-ray movie, you don’t even have to wait until Black Friday. Amazon has many Blu-ray movies on sale now for $9.99. We expect to see great deals online and in stores on Blu-ray movies as the Blu-ray industry tries to get the reluctant Blu-ray train rolling.
4. A Blu-ray Player Package Deal
The Black Friday sites were buzzing about a $78 Magnavox Blu-ray player. Turns out this player is most likely an older Profile 1.1 player that does not support BD-Live (Profile 2.0) or even WiFi. Amazon briefly offered the LG BD-370 Blu-ray player which does BD-Live but not WiFi (you need to move up to the LG BD-390 for that) with 3 movies for $148 which was a better deal than the $148 Sony BDP S360 on sale at many stores this Black Friday for $148. An even better online Blu-ray player deal which is rumored to be the LG BD-379 is a $99 Black Friday deal on newegg.com.
5. Newegg Has a Cheap Laptop
Newegg.com is offering an Acer Timeline AS3810TZ-4078 laptop with a 13" screen for $549.99. These new ultra low voltage computers claim to last up to 8 hours on a charge. It also has some impressive specs like 4GB of memory, a 500GB hard drive, and Windows 7 home edition.
6. Real Gamers Shop Online
Another reason to spend Black Friday with Amazon is a great deal on the Nintendo DSi Mario Bundle which you can preorder now and it will be shipped on Black Friday. It comes with 5 pre-installed Mario games for $154.98. You'd pay more for this at the stores and you don't have to leave home and interrupt your game playing.
7. Tell Your Friends to Go To Dell
Dell would like you to hang out with them on Black Friday and is offering some good deals including a Dell Inspiron 15 for $499 (normally $833), An Inspiron Mini 10v for $249, and a big Dell Studio 17 for $749.
