Gadget News From SXSW
The annual South by Southwest three ring circus is under way in Austin, Texas. This has become the place to introduce everything from new music to new movies to new technology. We didn’t make the trip to Texas this year but we’ve been following the Tweets and gadget news from the show and here’s what we’ve turned up so far.

Microsoft Launches IE 9.
Is it as Fast as They Claim?
Microsoft made the widely available (as beta) Internet Explorer 9 official at SXSW on March 14th. Microsoft is touting the speed of its new browser with the catch phrase “Fast is now beautiful.”
is the Next Big Thing
Ever want to send an SMS message to more than one person at a time? How about chatting with a group of friends? Group messaging was getting a lot of buzz at this year’s SXSW event. Some people were comparing the attention that a company named GroupMe got to the buzz around Twitter at the 2007 SXSW.
Other similar apps getting attention at SXSW included Hashable, a “relationship tracker, Yobongo, a location-based communication app, GroupedIn, Kik, and Beluga, makers of a group conversation app who were recently acquired by Facebook
Bizzy Beta Gets the Buzz
The beta version of Bizzy was getting a lot of buzz at South by Southwest. It’s a free app that helps you find places like restaurants that you might like to visit based on your recommendations and those of others with similar tastes.
Magazine for iPads
Similar to the popular iPad app Flipboard, Zite provides a filtered selection of content for you to read on your iPad. It gathers information about your reading and viewing preferences to provide just the stories it thins you might find interesting.
