Vipin Jain

Vipin Jain, President and CEO

As Retrevo's founder and fearless leader, Vipin is responsible for setting the company's direction and guiding it to success. Before Retrevo, as Vice President & General Manager, Vipin conceived, started, launched and ramped up Extreme Networks Wi-Fi business, which he grew to contribute more than 5% to company's revenue within six months of launching the product, shipping and ramping up sales of two generations of unified access products in less than two years. Prior to Extreme Networks, Vipin was a co-founder of Telseon, a pioneer in IP-based Metro Service Delivery where as the Vice President of Systems Engineering, he managed all aspects of pre- and post-sales engineering support, OSS/BSS development and architecture, deploying fiber-based Ethernet networks in more than 20 metropolitan areas in the U.S. in less than one year. The company was later sold to OnFiber which was sold to Qwest. Earlier in his career he was a member of the CTOs office at 3Com Corporation. Vipin is the inventor of IEEE 802.1X, the security protocol in wireless and wireline Ethernet, and has been awarded 13 patents. He has a graduate degree in Physics and undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from BITS, Pilani, India. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family and using Retrevo to get the most out of his home theatre system.

 
Jiang Wu

Jiang Wu, Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer

As Retrevo's Chief Technology Officer, Jiang Wu is responsible for the overall design of Retrevo's product. Jiangs prior work includes multi-dimensional visualization for data mining, unified access to structured and unstructured information, years of hands-on experience in data modeling, distributed software design, architecture and implementation. Jiang Holds an M.S. in Computer Science from Stanford and a B.S. in Computer Science from U.C. Berkeley. In the little spare time he has, Jiang enjoys playing with his children and aggressively shopping for bargains online. It is his belief that he will never pay full price for anything in his lifetime.

Robb Lewis

Robb Lewis, Vice President of Products

Robb is responsible for the product and marketing strategy at Retrevo. A start up veteran, he has been creating innovative Internet advertising, merchandising and e-commerce solutions since 1995. Robb was most recently senior director of product management and marketing with Macrovision Trymedia Games, where he introduced the in-game advertising network and a centrally managed private label games distribution and merchandising network. Prior to Macrovision, Robb started the e-commerce team at iBEAM Broadcasting, developing a digital media commerce system enabling media companies to monetize their content. As one of the original employees at CyberSource, Robb drove the product strategy that helped transition the company from an online retailer (Beyond.com) to the leading On-Demand commerce provider. In his spare time Robb enjoys playing video games like guitar hero and Wii sports with his children and fiddling with his home theater system as, according to his wife, he thinks there’s some feature he’s not discovered yet!

Alka Gupta

Alka Gupta, Vice President of Business Development

With more than a decade in the consumer internet space, Alka Gupta is responsible for revenue-generating deals and strategic partner relationships at Retrevo. Prior to Retrevo, she is Managing Director at The Ojas Group, where she provides advisory and board services to media start ups. Prior to founding The Ojas Group, Alka was with Lycos (NASDAQ: LCOS, acquired by Telefonica and subsequently Daum) for seven years, most recently as Vice President of Corporate Development. She joined Lycos in 1998 as one of the founding members of the Community products team and during her tenure Lycos grew to a presence in 42 countries and 116M uniques. Prior to Lycos, she was an executive with AT&T Solutions, US West International Strategy Group, and American Management Systems. Alka holds a M.B.A. from The Wharton School and B.S. (cum laude) from Case Western Reserve University. She is a Distinguished Wharton Women in Business Alumna Award Nominee; a Charter Member of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE); an Advisory Board Member to Women2.0; a Member of Wharton Admissions Committee; etc. In her free time, she is passionate about her family, friends, restaurants, travel, and world news. With respect to her consumer electronics – she is a sucker for trendy looking products and waiting for a Retrevo Value Map emphasizing style!

Manish Rathi

Manish Rathi, Co-Founder and Vice President of User Acquisition

A creative technologist, Manish directs Retrevo's Direct Marketing and User Acquisition activities as well as helping strategically guide the shape of the Retrevo product and its rollout to increasingly broader audiences. Before Retrevo, Manish was at Extreme Networks, where he was responsible for product management, new product development and technology partnerships. Prior to Extreme, he led the development and implementation of network management systems for FORE systems. Manish holds three patents and has several patents pending. He attended BITS Pilani, where he earned his BE in Computer Science, and holds an MS from Michigan State. When not passionately developing and evangelizing Retrevo, Manish enjoys swimming, golf and spending time with his wife and son. When challenged by founders of lesser search engines, he has been known to ask them to step outside. He has always been the only one to come back inside.

Peter Wang

Peter Wang, Vice President of Engineering & Operations

Responsible for Retrevo's overall operations and development, Peter has close to three decades of experience in turning ideas and technologies into real businesses. Most recently Peter founded Intransa, Inc., the leading provider of native IP SAN storage systems, where he was the founding President, the Chief Technology Officer, served on the Board of Directors, and led Engineering at different points in time. Prior to Intransa, Peter was Sr. Director of the Technology Development Center at 3Com Corp., where he led wide ranging technology investigations and strategy development and industry standards efforts, including packet telephony, high-speed networks, broadband and wireless access, and network appliances. Peter has been awarded over 20 US patents. He holds graduate management degree from Stanford University, graduate Electrical Engineering and Computer Science degree from U.C. Berkeley, and undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan. When he's not tirelessly executing on Retrevo's ambitious plans, Peter enjoys thinking about how to execute on Retrevo's ambitious plans. He may have a dog or enjoy cooking. We never hear about it.

Andrew Eisner

Andrew Eisner, Director of Community and Content

Andrew Eisner, Retrevo's director of community and content and resident hard core gadget enthusiast. Eisner comes to Retrevo from the world of computer journalism. As Executive Producer at PC World Magazine, he helped create and grow an award winning website. His first project at IDG was an ecommerce web site called WebShopper where he was Director of Content and General Manager. Eisner is well versed in technology products having helped establish and run Ziff Davis' premiere test lab which was actually his way of getting to play with the latest high tech gear. He has worked in and out of publishing and has held marketing and technical positions at many high tech companies in Silicon Valley. When he’s not pouring over gadget specs, he can be spotted riding his motorcycle around Bay Area back roads or hiking in the hills while listening to NPR podcasts on his iPod.
