what is pulse

What is the Retrevo Pulse?
The Retrevo Pulse is about what’s happening now with Electronics products. We observe and analyze user behaviors of more than 4M users to discover interesting activities and trends. Some of our analysis is made available for free through the CE Demand Index and the CE Price Index. Our Indexes include historical price trends and demand forecasts based on actual observed behavior.

What does the CE Price Index™ reflect?
Retrevo category-specific CE Price Index reflects the price trends for actively selling products in that category that consumers have an interest in purchasing. Retrevo Composite CE Price Index reflects the price trends for currently selling products across 40 top consumer electronics categories.
What does the CE Demand Index™ reflect?
Retrevo category-specific CE Demand Index reflects the (net dollar) demand for consumer electronics products in that category. This index is a leading indicator of consumers’ purchase intention (or sell-through potential from sellers’ perspective) using various offline and online retail channels. Retrevo aggregated CE Demand Index reflects the demand for consumer electronics products across 40 categories.
How many categories are in the indices?
We have selected 40 top consumer electronics product categories to compute the Retrevo Composite CE Price Index and Composite CE Demand Index
How many products are in the indices?
Around 4,000 – 6,000 products are part of the indeices on a daily basis. All actively selling products with user interest are considered when computing the price index.
How do we select the categories and products in the index?
We select categories that represent more than 80% of the consumer electronics marketplace based on historical sell-through data.
What type of maintenance is required for the index?
The divisor used to normalize the index needs to be re-computed whenever a special event occurs. A special event is defined as one that materially affects the index computation, such as insertion of a new category or removal of an obsolete category.
