Pros and keen amatuers believe that they have to go the DSLR route to get top quality images with total contol - but they should try this brilliant CanonG9 - they'll be quietly amazed by the results of this modern-day Leica type camera...awesome image quality, easy to use CONS: A little bulkier than I'm used to, but not a big deal...GOOD LUCK!! If you're looking for a full featured camera but want to keep the size small, I highly recommend this camera...Another slight issue is that the 4:3 image ratio is not quite as good (for me) as the 3:2 on a DSLR...Altogether, despite these minor problems, the camera is surprisingly usable, responsive and intuitive for a compact - it's certainly not a DSLR but it makes a good backup...
