simple and useful...doesn't make a cup of tea?...The "scan" function I use regularly, especially for photos, as i don't yet have a numeric camera...When i put my paper in the scanner, i have to hold it while closing the lid, with my fingers inside it...There is some good software package on the installation Cd - photobase and photostudio, which are pretty handy...I would definitely suggest this scanner...

The text recognition software that comes with it works surprisingly good...Seems to do a bad job on glossy materials, but that's also an issue with other scanners I've worked with...maybe a bit slow for high-quality scans I use a scanner infrequently, but when I do, I never have any problems with this bad boy...
