Thinking I had received a "bad batch", I returned the units for 3 more...The manual said 50 seconds but I waited a good 5 minutes...Even when there was not a single cloud in the sky and satalites are all around, there was very bad signal...
Every time yo turn it on, it immediatly asks if you want to acquire the sattelites, and the cursor remains in the "NO" box...The built-in detailed maps are also a plus, which the Cobra 100 does not include.) Bottom line, for the extra $, the Magellan explorist 300 unit is far superior to the Cobra 100...Bad aquisition, looses sattelite lock frequetly, Not accurate in finding...
I previously did not recommend it, but now I can see that it's capable and reliable...generally above average...Excellent customer service,and it is an all around good unit...I have had my unit for 3 months and have had a very good experience with it.I don't know what people are talking about when they say it doesn't lock to satellites...
