You could carry a spare battery with you, but shutting down Windows and swapping them over is a clear inconvenience when there are notebooks like the D520, which lasted 5hrs 11mins in our light-use battery test...The D520 isn't the smallest here - the Apple and MV are lighter and more compact...And, as we're getting the drawbacks out of the way, we have to admit the D520...

The best news is that it offers Core Duo processor performance for well under $1,000...It may seem quite similar to the D820 and D620, and in some respects it is because if offers the same sturdy magnesium alloy build, however you cannot configure built-in WWAN, no dedicated graphics is available, and you cannot configure a fast 2.0GHz + Core Duo processor...You can however configure up to a 1.83GHz...
