Honestly however, I am not overly experienced in HT, but I do know what I like! Strongly Recommended! We have had this system for two weeks and it has the best sound I have heard on a system less then $1500...and I like my movies loud!) Sound will be better with good matching front speakers...Overall, I'm really satisfied with this product at the price that I spend ($320...I believe it will perform much better with better speakers, but stock speakers do a good job too...
Once you listen to music on this system it becomes very obvious that it was intended for movies, but that's not saying that it sounds bad...An upside is that the receiver is a 7 channel unit so 2 more speakers may be added, in which case I would probably recommend quality 3-way units...I can only imagine how good it would sound if it were fully set up...
