The story's better when it comes to playing back other media, as there's good support for the majority of common codecs, including MP3, WMA and Ogg for audio and MPEG 2, MPEG 4, AVI, VOB, DAT, MP4 and XVid for video...If your prime interest is the media streaming and storage side, and the DVR functionality is secondary, it's not a bad box...We're hoping that Emtec will continue...

Movie Cube -R multimedia player review - Pocket-lint
SD Card reader, big hard drive, plays most formats...Interface not that consumer friendly, can't get TV recordings off the box, lacking key connections...If that wasn't bad enough, you can't get video you've recorded from the television off the box, a bit of a missed opportunity if you ask us...Basically there are too many times where the Movie Cube falls short for us...
