Though Epson doesn't sell the Stylus C84 as a photo printer, it rendered photos on glossy paper surprisingly well...gray-scale photos and color photos on ordinary paper looked a bit blocky and grainy but had good detail...It printed text at 5.2 pages per minute and our test graphics documents at 1.6 ppm, making it faster than most inkjets we've tested to date...The support tray...

The C84's translucent lid, silver styling and solid build befit a printer twice its price...However, it's the pigment-based DuraBrite ink that Epson is keen to push...From a high-capacity cartridge, the C84 printed 983 copies of our 5 per cent mono document - almost double that of its peers, leading to low running costs...We were disappointed with photo quality, though...
