And what you get is a tough little device that provides card format compatibility aplenty including SD/SDHC and Multimedia cards (up to 1GB restriction for the latter), CF Type I/II that, of course, includes Micro Drives...Overall, then, the P5000 is much like the P4000 before but with a larger screen, but yet again, Epson missed the opportunity to give the device a widescreen screen...

The P-5000 is a versatile, reasonably well put together package that goes above a beyond a simple picture viewer...Physically, the unit is intuitive to work with, comfortable to hold with the majority of the work being done with the right thumb...
With the P-5000, Epson have decided to change the design ethos of their Multimedia Storage Viewers, making them more rugged and a little less stylish than before...I would summarise by saying that the P-5000 sacrifices outright style in favour of being able to take a few knocks out in the field, whilst the older P-4000 is perhaps better suited to showing off...
As a movie player it is also very good 4+ stars...Not as good as the current generation of Archos for example, but as a secondary function, it is more then acceptable...I give this a solid five stars because in its primary function it is as good as it can be...
I?m heading to Europe soon and I didn?t want to lug my laptop...Perhaps there is a good technical reason for this oversight...If you are running Windows, you can only format 32GB FAT32 partitions ? not much good for backing up an 80GB device like the P-5000...
