To my mind though, their greatest success has been in creating good-quality midrange cameras that sell at very competitive prices, and the new Fuji FinePix S3100 is a good example of that trend...However, the Fuji S3100 drops the sound recording capability and the Continuous Shooting modes seen in some of its predecessors, presumably to keep the cost low in the face of its higher resolution...Featuring...
The FinePix S3100 offers beginner digital photographers 4.0 million pixels of resolution with a 6x optical zoom lens, which enables users to capture crisp, clear images of distant subjects...The S3100's 4.0 megapixel resolution produces images of up to 2272 x 1704 for photo-quality prints up to 8 x 10 inches in size...
The object is to hold both highlight and shadow detail without producing a "flat" picture with muddy colors, and the FinePix S3100 produced good color, but its high contrast led to over-bright highlights and deep shadows...Allowing for the warm cast though, I'd rate the overall color as very good...Overall results are similar to the wider shot above, with warm color and high contrast...
For this reason, the camera doesn't recommend itself to action photography...For the money, I find the S3100 to be a good performer...It gives you one more aspect of control in how shots are composed and one less electronic connection that can go bad...
The features are good, and the zoom is an excellent feature - good for H.S...But the manual says I'll get over 400 photos per battery charge/use, so maybe it won't be too bad...Reading the instructions solved everything As above noting bad quality, bad price, not easy to use it was the worst deal that i ever did......
I got some shots to match the pros w/a steady hand...Good in low light, but flash works well otherwise...Overall love it, so far.........This is a great little camera for the money...
