At a full retail price of around $300, the HPDeskjet9800 is the most expensive printer in this buyer's guide (you can spend more on an inkjet, but you have to really work at it...the 9800 not only supports double-sided printing (optional), it handles heavy and oversized paper stock, including thick cards, large envelopes and extra-long sheets...The HPDeskjet...
On the good side, it prints regular documents quickly and with good quality, and once you have your paper sizes set up correctly, it prints 11 x 17 and 13 x 19 posters...I have spent enough time, money and wasted paper to have bought three of these things, or better yet one good printer...The 9800 is definitely not the printer that HP would lead you to believe and I would not recommend...

If you're looking for an all around office printer that prints large format this HP is a bargin...Print quality is good when it works, and it will print on larger paper than standard printers...inexpensive prints good driver does not work on XP Pro SP 2 after working with HP techs for a month, the HP toolbox gould not access the printer to determine the ink levels or to run...
Ink life is good, you dont have to deal with the Canon alcohol ink drying up w/o use...HP is pretty good about providing Mac drivers...The Epson 3800 is in a different price class, I know, but it's as good as this HP is awful...
