My advice is to keep looking if you value a good point and shoot...I used the G500 for a year and the G600 takes everything that was good about the G500 and improves on it...I also own an Olympus D-490, with only 2.1 megapixels and when it came to enlarging good pictures it limited my options...

The battery is propritary and hard to find a replacement, same with battery charger...I can easily get used to this since I dont need to use the features alot (it does a good job as a point and shoot) and the 3 very common features (Focus modes, self timer, & flash setting) are just a button click away...It is 6mp, and has a good lense, but still the images if not lit properly are fuzzy...
Pictures printed up to 11x14 show good color (saturation may be a bit low) and excellent quality...Overall, this is a great camera for the money...Overall it's a bargain None considering the price Exceptional overall image quality I supose you get what you paid for! Price is cheap for the resolution, but quality of pictures are poor...
