It scans pictures with pretty good quality for the price, I have no problem with that...It's a little tricky to get this to work right, you have to boot up in the right order (printer first, then scanner, then computer) but overall still pretty nice to use both devices with one port...invest the extra money to get a newer, more current scanner with at least a DECENT software package...
