I researched some of the C230's performance numbers, and they turned out to be pretty good for a budget GPS device...The device can take anywhere from 30 seconds to a few minutes to power up and get a satellite fix, which isn't too bad at all...The C230 also does a good job of holding a satellite signal...This feature can be turned off in the settings menu, but I don't recommend...
We tested the Mio DigiWalker C230 in San Francisco, and from a cold start, it took the unit about two minutes to acquire a satellite fix...However, if you're looking for a very basic navigation system or are new to GPS, the MioC230 is a good choice, especially with its $250 price tag...You can view a detailed list of instructions before you head out under Itinerary...

One last thing I did want to mention, in terms of differences between the 220 and 230 models, I'd SWEAR the battery life of the 230 isn't nearly as good...Overall though, for what's being offered at its price, it's impossible for me not to recommend this...Menu is generally good (it took a little bit time to figure out what is what since I did not have much experience with GPS in the past...
