Before the upgrade to the 2.1 firmware, I had numerous problems with port forwarding, lock ups, slowdowns, etc...The main HIS (hospital information System) FVX538 has 42 VPN tunnels to sonicwalls, Cisco(s), and other NetgearFVX538/ 328 with no problems...I would strongly recommend this router for a cost efficent replacement to the Cisco 501/ 515...I was very excited about the...
Bottom line is that I am shipping the product back when it finally arrives...Upgrade the firmware to the latest version first, and you should be good to go...Learning curve for VPN can be long but once you know, the easy user interface is great! Good router too! Make sure to get Version 3 of firmware......
But it sure is not reliable, I can't recommend it...The setup has been a breeze including setting up VPN connections from dynamic clients as well as from another router (a Cisco/Linksys RVS 4400N...VPN set up time...make sure you upgrade your firmware in the first place (so that you don't lose your previous configuration parameters......
