This is a good idea and works well not to confuse new comers to the camera...When it comes to pre-programmed options though the NikonCoolpix3100 wins hands down, apart from the basic portrait, landscape, sports and night settings you can also set the picture via the scene option, which allows you to break down things further...Picture quality was very good and for a 3 mega pixel...
first and foremost, the picture quality is very good and is easily of the best camras in the 3.2 meg range...Overall these are easy to use, although as Amazon notes, you probably won't have use for many of them...about average for a camera in this class, and I think the pros outweight the cons...

And it performs very very good in low light conditions, just experiment little bit with exposure compensation and you will get noise-free pictures...When using alkaline batteries the life was very bad...Overall, this camera is ok, but buyer beware! Pictures taken on a recent trip to the UK were great - and in some cases better than my film camera...
I found it produced excellent results under good shooting conditions, but struggled otherwise...Nice compact design, easy to slip into jacket/trouser pocket, good handling...Really good value for money!
