Nice ergonomics...Like its closest competitor (the Canon Powershot A650 IS), the pocket sized P5100 is meant to be a P&S camera for serious photographers...The P5100’s 1/1.72” CCD sensor produces 12.1 megapixel images in 4:3, 3:2, and 16:9 aspect ratios...The P5100’s zoom is a bit slower in operation...
The lens will not open as wide at tele end as an indoor shooter would want without flash, and is not the speediest performer out there overall...Nikon has done a good job on this product and you just can't go wrong at the price...Low light photography requires a bit of advance planning...
I encountered the same only on a bad Agfa T6...Red eye removal in the camera can be a good thing...The pictures are ok but not "very good" or excellent...

But Cameras have to quite advertising "high ISO" if they really cant do GOOD pictures at high ISO...More importantly, despite the camera's very good edge-to-edge sharpness, the lens exhibited strong barrel distortion at wide angle...However, having worked with it the last two weeks I can easily see it has many features to recommend it...
