Stylish model, very good image quality, good value, large and bright LCD, easy-to-use camera...Response times should be much better, camera can be difficult to hold, no optical viewfinder, battery...At first glance, Nikon's Coolpix S50 looks like the perfect ultra-compact digital camera...Unfortunately, if you dig a little deeper, the Coolpix S50's performance levels don't...
But here's what really makes it stand out: 1) Good quality 3x optical periscoping lens with true VR...The D-Lighting is particularly good as saving photos where the important areas are too dark without washing out the light areas...I suppose if someone were looking for a camera to snap party pictures or around-the-town shots, it could be a good choice...
Shutter speed is pretty good - you cant compare it to a D-SLR, but with the right settings you will be able to snap photographs easily...i paid $289 from Circut City (not my favorite place)but still good priced...The good assortment of settings and lighting choices is really nice as well...
It is very slim, which is good for her small hand...Start up is really fast since there is no need to wait lens to come out (a lot faster than canon SD750) Conclusion: If you want to have a real working idiot-proof camera, get this one...This is good because the high ISO performance on this camera is honestly a little lower than expected...
