Excellent DVD-RAM recording features
Great quality...Overly complicated menus...This was one of the first cheap decks to offer support for DVD-RAM discs, giving you the ability to watch the start of a show while the end is still recording...Unlike the Sony, this doesn't have an iLink port, so you'll be limited to the analogue connection when transferring home movies......
Of course, the smaller Korean and Chinese manufacturers have been happy to knock out recorders for under £150 for a while, but Panasonic's features list make the ES10 make it worth the (small) extra investment...And with component outputs as well, this great-value recorder will even make a good accompaniment to a flat-screen display...For a £200 DVD recorder, the ES10's...
Nevertheless, with a somewhat heavy heart and plenty of reservations, I decided the E55 was what I'd go for, the least-bad solution, so I hied me down to Best Buy thinking I'd probably come home with one...I can't compare directly, but having been driven to blinking distraction by one bad DVD recorder, I can say the ES10 was a delight to use -- it was easy to find what little I needed...
