30X optical zoom...Tape can be removed from top of camera....No mechanical image stabilization...Mediocre video quality...Autofocus could be better....The Panasonic PV-GS35's only real draw is its powerful optical zoom, but even that's pretty much undone by the lack of image stabilization...As tech reviewers, we're always looking for the best products to recommend...But...

Not incredibly good, but both the video and low light performance are of good quality and provide stiff competition to other lower-end MiniDV camcorders of comparable price...The PV-GS35 is the most advanced of the lower-end Panasonics, and largely includes a microphone input, S-Video port, and a bit more optical zoom over its companions...That said, the other lower-end Panasonics...

For under $400 you can't beat the pv-gs35...It has several features, controls settings and video recording is also good, but comparatively inferior to my non-digital VHS video cameras...When I connect this camera to TV for live display, I hear loud continuous screech, and there is no way to stop it...
