The internal DD decoder is as good as any I've heard (although comparisons have been difficult since I've not had other players in my house - only in demo rooms etc......Overall, while I'm happy with the image quality produced by the DV-626D, I wouldn't recommend it for others to purchase...Before i had the 626d i had the sony dvsp7700, and i had problem after problem...

I thoroughly recommend this machine but dont think it is any longer available to buy new so shop around on the auction sites for the best deals...The picture quality is outstanding – this machine really does show how good DVD really is...Somewhere like Techtronics will do a good job...
