When I hooked it up, it gave a very good picture for SDTV...Contrast is very good too but not enough range in the adjustment level...DVDs and an XBOX connected to the component video both looked quite good (aside from the issue w/ the black levels mainly for the DVD and TV viewing...

26" makes a great size for the bedroom, and the picture quality is very good for the HD channels...I am only using component cable input (since Time Warner is sold out on the HDMI receiver at the moment) but even with the lower quality cable, the HD channels are still very good...The lack of side or front inputs is disappointing, but nonetheless this still is a good purchase...
