When we saw the first UK sample of the Q1 Ultra back in June (web ID: 114332), we were by turns both pleased and disappointed...While the shift into production hasn't brought about any revolutionary changes, it has clarified how the Q1 Ultra will ship, as well as some of Samsung's future plans for it...Internally, the Q1 Ultra is unchanged from the prototype...Performance...
Full Windows in a very portable format...Screen resolution is high enough for a near-notebook experience and the touch screen is accurate and responsive...Quite slow...Interacting with small on-screen elements like Start Menu program lists, hyperlinks and close...But the Q1 Ultra can go most anywhere easily and fits into a medium sized purse or briefcase...The Q1 Ultra runs Windows Vista...

LTop Killer Price and RAM This unit is awesome in XP version, even the intro model, can't recommend Vista on anything and wonder what they were thinking putting Vista on a UMPC...Weight and size No keyboard, on screen dialer slow reaction, no firewire, function bar confusing, no optical drive, SERVICE HORRIBLE...cnet claims that the screen is not bright...
The touch settings in Vista are pretty bad by default, so you really need to tweak those a lot to get them right (turn off the silly mouse "help" pointer, enable the keyboard instead of handwriting recognition etc......All in all I can highly recommend the SamsungQ1 Ultra for people shopping for an ultra portable PC...This device is usable as it is, when a faster one comes...
