The quality of your sound is only as good as the weakest link...The sound blaster cards are good for gaming audio, but look into other brands for more accurate music reproduction...Good quality and very long straight cord (I hate spring coiled cords plus they short out too easily...
With decent amplification along with a good source, the sound becomes smoother and even more detailed...While the 595 is among the best sounding headphones unamped, if you don't plan on getting a headphone amplifier, it may be a good idea to pick up the HD555 instead...Like most high end headphones, this one must be broken in to sound good...
