But overall, I would suggest you take a CD with dark scenes to the store and have them play it on this one and others to see if you are ok with it...I got a very good price at BestBuy by printing out the discounted prices I could get online and bargaining with one of the employees...Overall, my experience with this TV has been outstanding...
SDTV is good enough for what it is - digital SD channels are on par with my old CRT...The contrast is not as good as it could be, but it is acceptable...I believe I've made the right decision - this TV is very impressive - and from what I've read, Sharp's issue is high incidence of bad units...
