The stills look very good to me so far, but I've only taken about 20 and viewed them on the TV...this struck me as being about 10-15% bigger overall than the HC90...But I can say I noticed nothing in the footage so far that I'd call noise, so my decision to go with the tape and HDV format looks very good to me right now...

These pics are back to 1.3 megapixels but you'd be amazed how really good they look...Down-conversion to standard definition seems pretty good...If you've ever watched an HD football game on CBS (they broadcast in 1080i) on a really good HD set you'll get an idea of how good the picture quality looks from this camera...
On a conventional tv the video is still very good, comparable to a good DVD...If you are looking for an HD camcorder with solid features and beautiful video performance, this is a good buy...I highly recommend it as a step into HD-quality home videos...
