No HDMI cable I have only had one good day at using this camera...Not as good as the Alpha DLSR for stills but nice enough for 8 x 10 prints...The camcorder has lots of features - steadyshot, night shot, good zoom, etc...
personal experience, own all three cameras) Video: 1440/1080i SR8 good video and pictures 1920/1080i Canon HV20 better than SR8 in HDV 1920/1080i SR12 gave better video even with AVCHD than HV20...SR12 is definitely better in detail especially in telephoto video than HV20 or SR8...Highly recommend to any one looking to spend in this price range...
