The camera's low light capability is not as good as the Canon XH-A1 in the same price range, or the Panasonic HVX200 (another $2k+), or as good as the older Sony Z1 (which doesn't shoot 24fps...Doesn't require a lot of tweaking, it looks good almost all the time right out of the box...As good as the lens is, I believe the Canon is better, and has better image stabilizing capability...
A unique camera with a wide variety of formats, a superb viewing system, perfect balance and the best accessory set I've ever seen...I get great sound tracks that can be adjusted...Only one problem, CMOS is not as good in low light as CCD...
Needless to say, the V1U was my choice...Bottom line this camera has more to offer than most pro setups require...So far the only thing I would like from Sony is another V1U for two camera shooting...
