i bought these and a smaller sony version that says(blue) attached to the end of the name, those were about $40 dollars, not to bad I thought, but i work in a cooler with a many large fans blowing, so the sound quality/volume were not enough for me...i would recommend these to anyone looking for a great portable speaker...Plus, I use 4x rechargeable 2000ma or 2500ma AA batteries and im good...
Powered sound is good, considering such a small device...Another good analogy would be one of those little mono weather radios...But even if it gets as loud as a jam box, it sounds nothing like one, and it's not nearly as good as a cheap pair of computer speakers...
