Toshiba has gotten a lot of things right with its 52HM84 DLP TV...This no doubt helped with the black levels on the 52HM84 DLP TV when we watched it with the lights on in our screening room...While the 52HM84 came out of the box with super-saturated and therefore totally unnatural looking greens (something that seems to happen a lot with DLPs), this problem was easily remedied...
I highly recommend a buyer to purchase the matching Toshiba ST5284 stand for the set...Together - the set is perfect! GOOD WORK TOSHIBA! I spent over two years looking at high definition televisions before settling on the Toshiba...Given the reviews to date and comments regarding reliability, I was concerned about buying from a company that did not have a good extended warranty...

This 2+ chip improves the contrast ratios and black levels, offering a much brighter and clearer picture overall...There really is no way around this, but overall I'm impressed with the Toshiba's stretch ratios...I would highly recommend purchasing the Toshiba cabinet that can easily be had at discount...
Decent TV overall and was satisfied with it until the light bulb died on me, 3 weeks after the warranty expired...Remote control is not very good, sound is marginal but adequate...Know these differences before you shop! Reduced glare is a very good......
