Despite the PJ501's 1,500-lumen rating (the Hitachi model's rating is 1,700 lumens), the PJ501's scores were very similar to those of the CP-S317W on our brightness, brightness variance, and contrast tests...The PJ501's image quality was fine, with excellent convergence and smooth color ramps...
