Setup was easy and the scanner speed seemed very good...Paperport is a good document handling program, allows you to 'stack' pages into a single document, add "sticky notes", text and more...The OCR (Optical Character Recognition) is very good, since Visioneer uses (owns?) Scansoft who owns Textbridge OCR program, generally recognized as the best over the years...
Orientation of lid makes it much easier to place and remove photos and paper...And the acquisition software allows you to automatically adjust many characteristics of your scan (gamma, hue, saturation, lightness, color, etc, etc, etc.) Overall, a nice product that could use better support...Would recommend this scanner to anyone...
