I had learned from research that both styles have there drawbacks, plasma's are good for dark rooms, LCD's are good for rooms with glare and well lighted...I believe most HD TV's are like this and I would recommend this for any and everybody hooking up a HD TV...I would recommend for standard definition programming (480i) that you turn off the widescreen mode (16:9) and set the TV to normal mode (4:3)...
