I read all the pros and cons of this product before I bought this machine (my 4th Emachine.) While Vista has some good additions to it, its consistent crashing makes it a far cry from XP...Another good thing that I didn't see most reviewers saying is that the "stuff" that comes with most store-bought computers is kept to a minimum here...Would definitely recommend this computer to anyone that wants a mid-range Media Center PC for DVR and doing other computer stuff on their big screen TV.".
Emachines makes computers with a KNOWN DEFECT--if an electrical surge damages your power supply it also tends to fry your MOTHERBOARD! So what should be minor damage will be the death of your computer...I'm very happy with the overall performance of this system...Bottom line, you will not get your money's worth with an emachine...
