Although I've not done a formal measurement, it appears to be a good as my $40 CD/MP3 stereo...I would have recommended that they build the "black" parts of the device out of some slightly rubberized material to mitigate against the inevitable drop which will be in my future...I recommend you get earphones of your liking...
