Reviews: The Audiovox (formally Terk) XMDFDK is a totally plug and play system for the 04 and 05 and can be had for less than $100...The XMDFDK is not visable after installation just like the Sirus unit but the XMDFDK is smaller...The audio system in the 04 and 05 Thunderbird has no satellite receiver, tuner, converter, or antenna...The Audiovox Terk XMDFDK system is simply another add on that receives XM instead of Sirius...If you want XM purchase and install the Audiovox Terk XMDFDK...

Reviews: If you have the Bose premium sound system (most SSR's do), then you will be able to install an Audiovox (Terk) XMDGMK kit, which plugs right into the OEM head unit and provides XM radio service through the OEM head unit...The XMDGMK is best bought online, Amazon.com has it for $139 with free shipping...I did this, and when my XMDGMK went south about three weeks ago, they replaced it with a unit on hand (the XM Direct unit was bad) and my only cost was labor, or $50...The kit, at least the newest kit, is model XMDGMK...

"And with just a 6 month commitment we received a monthly rate for XM service at about $7/month...Given this, I would only recommend this product to people who want to be able to control the XM radio stations and settings on thier XM ready reciever...I also would seriously think about purchasing this device if you do not have a south facing window nearby to point the XM antena portion of the docking station..." read more »
