Garmin still dominates the GPS market but prices are coming down. For the car, one GPS feature to look for is Text to Speech which offers real-time turn-by-turn, voice guidance. Another good feature for the car is real-time traffic data. Bluetooth will help you comply with some of the new hands-free calling laws that many states have enacted
